Come and view a beautiful range of hand crafted Maori gifts (taonga) and see the actual making of the Maori capes (korowai) and baskets (kete). You will be able to experience first hand the creation of many items from the raw materials.

Kapiti Coast Museum has been run by volunteers for over 20 years and includes a unique collection of local history items and radio communications equipment. The Museum is located in the old Post Office building of 1908.

The Paraparaumu Museum of Avation is housed in the old Meteorological Service building next to Paraparaumu airfield.
The Museum was opened in January 1995 to preserve New Zealand general aviation history. The emphasis is upon general aviation rather than military.There is information on New Zealand Pioneer Aviators from 1902 onwards as well as New Zealand Aviation Meteorology developments.
