It's Coast Time
If you are visiting with a group and need a place to powwow, you can book one of two conference rooms. The small room comfortably fits six people and the larger can accommodate 12 or 20 depending on the seating arrangements.
Cooked or continental breakfast at the motel is one choice to start the day, and later you can nip round the corner to the village to check out its dozen or so cafes and restaurants serving everything from fish and chips to Italian and Thai for your lunch and dinner.
Maclean Park by the sea-front is a good place to have your fish and chips. The ducks at the pond and the sharp-eyed seagulls will love you for the leftovers. For a bit of a relaxed workout, dash up the road for a round or two at the Paraparaumu International Golf Club where Tiger Woods once played.
You can walk the long, mostly deserted, beach all the way north to the Waikanae River Estuary or south towards Raumati and Queen Elizabeth Park. On the way, check out the catch of the surfcasters and drag netters.
If you just want to chill out, you can stay tucked into your clean sheets and catch what's on Sky TV's five channels.
